IMPORTANT CHANGES REGARDING ATTENDANCE AT ST JOHN’S - July 13, 2021

Fr. Graeme, Rector at St. John’s, has recently advised us of changes in the safety protocols at St. John’s, which we are obliged to follow.  In accord with those changes, we have also changed our protocols.

Reservations are no longer necessary.  Contact tracing is no longer being done by St. John’s and seating capacity has increased to approximately 60 people.  Six-foot distancing is still required in church so you will need to sit in designated spaces for one or two people.  You may continue to sit by yourself if you wish.

Return to St. John's - Reserve Your Seat

Dear friends and members,
You should have received an email last Sunday providing details about our return to St. John’s on June 20. If not, you can find it on the home page of the Dignity/New York website (www.dignityny.org).

As promised, here is further information about reserving your seat. This is necessary because by regulation of St. John’s and the Episcopal Diocese of New York, capacity in the church is currently limited to 40 people in the pews.

Return to St. John's on Sunday, June 20, 2021

Dear Members and Friends,

We have very exciting and joyous news! After fifteen months away, we will be returning to St. John’s for in-person liturgies. We will resume our regular weekly schedule on Sunday, June 20, at 6:30 PM. Our Pride liturgy will be held at St. John’s on the following Sunday, June 27, at 6:30 PM. This is a change from our past tradition of holding our Pride service on the Saturday evening of Pride weekend, which we anticipate will be for this year only.

Easter Day Witness at St. Patrick's Cathedral

A Witness organized by Brendan Fay was held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Easter morning. The Witness protested the recent Vatican statement saying that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions. Icons of out gay priests John McNeill and Mychal Judge, both closely associated with Dignity/New York, and the rainbow banner created for us by rainbow flag creator Gilbert Baker added to the visual impact.
